CANDY AND BAKING

Mariela, from culinary arts 1st D has told me about this site for virtual baking, I think it's real fun, and it will be good vocabulary practise for bakers and patissiéres.

I also found this "corner shop" for sweets and candy. What would you include in your bunny hunt basket?

On Easter Sunday many children go "bunny hunting " searching for stuffed animals and chocolate eggs to put in their little baskets, can you see the ones I've got?

BERRY TRIFLE

BERRY TRIFLE

I love trifle and all my friends do too. This is the one I made for last Saturday's family gathering.

This particular one was made from sponge cake, liqueur, custard, jelly, whipped cream, slivered almonds, and fruit in general, specially bananas.

Trifle is a delicious alternative to ice-cream, fruit salad or macedoine after a long many course meal. It's colourful, stunning and flavoury dessert. Children love it and it's somewhat in the so called collective memory of the English speaking community.

I used to love Rowntree's jelly and all the different products around this brand and also Bird's custard, I found them to be a part of my experience as a learner of English language, above you have a couple of links on these two brands.

Although Mr. W.L. Berry never had any of this with me, since this is fun and he was fun I dedicate this dessert to him
